Frontier Airlines, the ultra-low-cost carrier, is expanding its service to and from Southern California this spring with the introduction of three new routes from San Diego International Airport (SAN). Starting June 12, the airline will launch daily nonstop service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). On June 13, nonstop routes to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will begin.
New Routes and Destinations
With these new additions, Frontier will offer nonstop flights to eight destinations from SAN. To celebrate, the airline, known as America’s Greenest Airline, is offering fares starting as low as $39*.

Enhancing the Passenger Experience
In addition to expanding its routes, Frontier Airlines has introduced major improvements in its products and customer service, ushering in ‘The New Frontier.’ These changes include UpFront Plus seating, a premium seating option with more legroom and elbow space in the front rows of the aircraft. Passengers in UpFront Plus will enjoy a guaranteed window or aisle seat, extra legroom, and an empty middle seat. Later in 2025, the airline will introduce free, unlimited companion travel for its most loyal customers. Additionally, Frontier will roll out First Class seating on all flights, offering exceptional comfort and space at affordable prices.
The FRONTIER Miles Program
Frontier Airlines is redefining frequent flyer loyalty with its FRONTIER Miles program, designed to help customers “Get It All For Less.” By earning miles swiftly with each dollar spent on Frontier services, members benefit from a standard 10X multiplier, meaning $1 equals 10 miles. As customers climb the elite status tiers, this multiplier increases, peaking at an impressive 20X. Achieving elite status requires just 10,000 miles, unlocking perks like priority boarding, preferred seat selection, and complimentary checked baggage.
